Background

The Privacy Act 1988 (“the Act") in 2001extended to Not for profit organizations including ACC World Relief  (“ACCWR”)  ABN 26077 365 434.  The act requires that private sector organisations like ACCWR must comply with requirements of the act.  National Privacy Principles have been established and set minimum standards in relation to the collection, holding, use, disclosure, management, access, correction and disposal of personal Information about natural persons.

It is the intention of ACCWR to not only comply with our requirements under the law, but with integrity, and to the best of our ability, comply with the spirit and intent of the legislation.  ACCWR are committed to protecting the privacy and security of personal information collected about all regular users or visitors to our site.  This Privacy statement explains how any personal information collected about you online will be handled by us.  From time to time we may amend the information provided on this website.  Consequently you are encouraged to visit our website and review this privacy statement on a regular basis. Our personnel and web site contractors are trained to treat personal information with the utmost confidentiality.  You can help by ensuring that you log out of our  website when you have finished using it.  If you become aware of any security breach, please let us know as soon as possible.  Although ACCWR take reasonable steps to protect personal information, we cannot fully guarantee that our website is “hacker-proof”.  When Personal Information is no longer required, reasonable steps are taken to destroy or permanently de-identify the information.
