ACC World Relief exists to enable churches and community groups to perform overseas humanitarian projects with greater effectiveness, and bring long-term benefits to the communities in which we work.
We select projects which are focused on alleviating poverty, will deliver sustainable improvements, maintain the dignity of the people we are working with, and builds the capacity of the community to help themselves.
We are committed to imitating the attitude of Jesus Christ, who emptied himself and assumed the nature of a servant. We believe that the practice of good development requires integrity, humility and selflessness of heart, shown in the preference of another’s interests over our own.
Our prayer is that God will guide and give you wisdom to most effectively meet the needs of the poor.
ACC World Relief:
- facilitates the raising of projects in local situations by giving advice as to the suitability of a project and guidance on methods of financing, compiling profiles, administrating donations and compiling exit reports.
- works through churches, non-church organisations, and ACC World Mission Regional Directors/ Regional Action teams, by making approved project needs known within Australia in order to raise financial, structural and/or personnel support.
- may be able to provide tax-deductibility for overseas projects through an arrangement with registered organizations with NGO status. Not every overseas country is eligible to receive tax-deductible status, nor is every project eligible. Countries eligible are those currently listed on the AusAID website, and declared by the Minister of Foreign Affairs as Developing Countries.
